MWL achieves Bronze Status for commitment to Anti‑Racism

MWL has been awarded Bronze Status by the North West Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Assembly, recognising the meaningful progress being made in becoming an actively anti‑racist organisation.

This reflects a year of focused work across the Trust, shaped by open conversations, staff engagement and practical action. To achieve Bronze Status, organisations must demonstrate clear, evidence‑based progress - something MWL was able to show through a range of initiatives designed to strengthen culture and support colleagues.

Key areas of progress include:

  • reinforcing a zero‑tolerance approach to racist behaviour
  • delivering Active Bystander training to empower staff to challenge discrimination
  • supporting career development programmes aimed at improving diversity in senior roles.

While the recognition marks an important milestone, the Trust acknowledges that the journey is ongoing. Tackling racism and discrimination requires collective effort, and MWL will continue building on this foundation as further progress is made in the months ahead.

The Trust extends its thanks to everyone involved in achieving Bronze Status, and to the many colleagues who continue to contribute to a safe, inclusive and fair environment for all.
